There was a very long time in between losses for the No. 1 Longmeadow boys lacrosse team. It was June 7, 2012, to be exact, the semifinals of the 2012 Western Mass. Division I boys lacrosse tournament.

The Lancers had their 37-game winning streak - which included a perfect 25-0 last season - snapped Saturday afternoon, as they fell to Medfield, 10-9. The Lancers (12-1) came out to a 3-2 lead after the first quarter, and did not trail in the game until the final goal was tallied.

Tied 6-6 at halftime, these two evenly matched teams were playing up to their undefeated records. The score was tied 8-8 after three quarters of play.

Max Stukalin put the Lancers up by one early in the fourth, but Medfield had the equalizer. The Warriors went up, for good, with just 2:04 left to play. Offensively, the Lancers were led by Stukalin, who scored four goals and added two assists. Myles Smith also had two goals for Longmeadow.
